Hambledon/Water Lane/Buss's Common.

You can start this walk in a variety of places. Either on Water Lane, where there is a little Carpark, or at the Pub, or, because I had to see someone nearby, at the entrance to Hambledon Park (very imposing).
1. Take the back road to the Petworth Road (A283) but turn left at the T-junction. This takes you through Chiddingfold and when you see the turn off to Hambledon, turn right, and then immediately left. This takes you to the Hambledon Park entrance gate. If you do a U-turn there back the way you came, park in a mini lay-by on the left.
2. Follow the Greensand Way sign up an incline until you reach a X-road by a house. Leave the GW and head north, half left from whence you came. At the next bifurcation keep left, past Buss’s Cottage, and you will reach Water Lane.
3. Turn right on to the road, and after about 10 yards take the signposted path to the right. Keep straight on until you need to bear left to join a bigger path. This takes you to a minor road.
4. Turn right past the Pub – Warm Beer, Lousy Food, and just past a road to the left, take the FP right. This will take you back to the house mentioned in 2, and you can either retrace your steps to the car, or
5. Take the path to the right up a hill, which soon passes a grand new development, and leads to the main road (A283).
6. Just before the road take the FP to your left, and this leads you back to the Hambledon Park entrance. A shimmy to the right and there should be your car.
