Northchapel/Shillinglee/Frith. Adapted from Walk 7 to make it longer, maybe 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

1. A283 in the direction of Petworth, take the first left turn in Northchapel, and park your car in the Northchapel Village Hall Carpark. As you turn into the carpark you will have seen the FP sign pointing left.
2. Follow that path up the hill, it turns right at the top, and take the first FP to the left, it’s a sharp left. You are now in the middle of Frith Wood. At the X-road turn right, and at the next X-road turn left. This will take you via a ford to a T-Junction. There you turn right.
3. This takes you past Eastland Farm, through a copse and then turn left. Follow the wood on your left, until you reach an enclosed nursery area, where you turn right and then left at the bottom of the field.
4. Follow the sign right through the copse, across a field (usually contains sheep), through another small copse to a track, which is just south of Shillinglee Home Farm. Turn left to join the road and then right at the road.
5. Take the first FP to the right, after about 10 minutes, and then follow that path to a T and turn left. Take the first turn left, past Haymans Farm and then turn right just past Little Haymans Farm. Turn right at the first FP, which leads to a T and turn left.
6. Carry on until you reach a road and Piper’s Cottages. Turn right along the road for about 10/15 minutes and take the first FP left after Hammer Cottages.
7. This takes you to an X-road where you turn right. Up to the road, straight over, past Mitchell Park Farm, up to a T, where you turn left. This takes you past Frith Cottage (beautiful garden) along the access road and where this road swings left, you turn right.
8. Follow this path and you will see that you are back where you started.
